If you’re not a coffee drinker, whether it be because of the taste or the less pleasant side effects, you still might want to consider the pros and cons of adding a little caffeine to your day. While coffee—and caffeine in general—can cause many issues in the body such as irritability and anxiety, it can also have some positive effects that you may not have considered. You may have heard that caffeine can help reduce brain disease, but recent studies have shown that it may also help protect you against inflammation, especially helpful in older drinkers who might be suffering from chronic diseases. Fortunately, if you’re not a fan of coffee, there are other ways besides coffee to enjoy a little caffeine.
