Enjoy a smooth, natural look and feel with the latest in line filler treatments at Arkansas Anti-Aging & Aesthetics. We offer Juvéderm, Restylane®, Perlane, and Radiesse, which are used to restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane Treatment Areas
Line fillers or "dermal" fillers are administered in a smooth-flowing injection that provides a high level of control for individualized, tailored facial contouring and for achieving a smooth and natural look. Dermal fillers are a good treatment option for:
- Lip enhancement
- Deep folds
- Facial lines
- Wrinkle correction
- Volume augmentation of the lips
- Smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead)
Types of Dermal Fillers
Juvéderm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid gels. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in all of these fillers is composed of a crystal-clear gel that is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. It is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid.
This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide long-lasting results. Studies have shown that the cosmetic benefits of Restylane and Perlane typically last about 6 months. Juvederm may last up to 12 months.
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, all of these products are free from animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins.
Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapetite microspheres. Like other facial fillers, these microspheres are suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin to restore volume. The results are immediate, and in early trials, many patients have reported results lasting a year or more.
Advertised as the "next generation filler for long lasting wrinkle correction," Radiesse is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that can restore facial volume as well as correct smile lines, nasolabial folds and wrinkles around nose and mouth. Radiesse does more than temporarily fill-in those folds and wrinkles, it can also help to build your own collagen.
About The Line Filler Procedure
You should take a few precautions before being treated with wrinkle fillers.
- One week prior to treatment, avoid taking St. John's Wort, high dose Vitamin E, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen and naproxen. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
- Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. Let Dr. Crisp know about the potential for cold sores, so that proper medication can be prescribed and an outbreak prevented.
After a consultation to address your personal goals for treatment, a local anesthetic will be administered either by injection or topically.
These fillers are injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient and results are practically instantaneous.
Post Treatment Care
After your treatment, you will most likely have some redness and swelling. Sunbathing and cold outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappears. All filler treatments provided by Arkansas Anti-Aging produce a low occurrence of adverse events. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve in less than seven days.
