About the Micro Laser Peel Treatment

The Contour system is an erbium YAG laser that can provide a partial-to-full epidermal peel of 10-50 microns.
The procedure is typically performed with cold air anesthesia and/or a topical anesthetic. Because this procedure ablates deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and full skin resurfacing.
The results are more consistent than microdermabrasion or chemical peels because the laser precisely controls the depth of penetration.
For those who want something comparable to microdermabrasion, we also offer a 4 micron laser peel.
For those who want a deeper peel but don’t want the extended down time, a series of 10-20 micron Micro Laser Peels can be performed 4 to 8 weeks apart to achieve the same benefit as a deeper laser peel.

Micro Laser Peel Aftercare
For most people healing takes 3-7 days. It is important to keep the skin moisturized with an occlusive ointment such as Aquaphor or Vaseline for 24 to 48 hours, depending on the depth of the peel.
Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble sunburn, with some sloughing on the second and subsequent days.
Redness typically begins to fade by the third day, and can be easily covered by makeup on the fourth day. We recommend pure mineral makeup to keep your skin healthy and looking its best.
The length of recovery time may also depend on your age and the condition of your skin prior to treatment.
